Attention Anthem Crewmembers: There is a change to the way your mental/behavioral benefits are processed.

At the start of the year, Optum (who powers our BlueCarpet service) began providing behavioral health services for JetBlue Crewmembers and dependents enrolled in JetBlue’s Medical Plan.

What does this mean?
Even though you are covered by Anthem, your behavioral health specialists are part of the Optum network and claims will need to be processed by Optum.

Optum has an enhanced network of more than 145,000 licensed and certified professionals, counselors, psychiatrists and social workers—and more than 3,500 treatment facilities.

If you or your family member is using a behavioral health provider, make sure that provider is in the Optum network. You can search online through Optum’s Network directory at liveandworkwell.com using the code “JETBLUE,” or simply call BlueCarpet at 1-866-529-1675 and say “Navigator.”

You have access to Navigator, a FREE program delivered by BlueCarpet. Navigator puts you in touch with an experienced professional who can give advice and connect you with services to help you tackle whatever you’re facing.

What information do I provide when I am at a provider?
On the back of your Anthem insurance card is the phone number the behavioral health provider should contact to verify coverage. You can also use your Crewmember ID or social security number to identify you in Optum’s network. When using your Crewmember ID, please place three zeros before the number. For example, 00012345.

What if my provider isn’t in network?
You can continue to visit your current provider until September 30, 2018—even if they aren’t in Optum’s network. If you continue to use this provider beyond September 30, you will be billed at out-of-network rates, which are more costly for you.

If your provider isn’t in network, you have two options:

  1. Encourage your provider to visit providerexpress.com and become part of the Optum Behavioral Health Network.
  2. Switch to a provider who is in-network. Call Navigator for more help.

What if my claim was submitted to Anthem and it was denied?
If your provider sent a claim to Anthem in 2018, simply ask them to bill Optum using the following address:
